Terms of Use

Terms governing use of this site

Last updated: August 9, 2026

Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of askanlawpc.com, in English or Turkish (the "Site"), operated by Askan Law PC, a California professional corporation ("we," "us," "our"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

No attorney-client relationship

Using this Site does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and Askan Law PC. Reviewing the content, browsing pages, or submitting the contact form is not enough to create an engagement. We form an attorney-client relationship only when:

  • we have reviewed your matter,
  • we have completed a conflict-of-interest check, and
  • you and we have signed a written engagement agreement.

Until all three of those steps are complete, you are not our client and we are not your attorneys.

Information is not legal advice

The Site contains general information about immigration law for educational purposes. It is not a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney about your specific situation. Immigration law changes frequently and applies differently to different facts. Do not act, or refrain from acting, based on anything you read here without first consulting an attorney about your circumstances.

If you have an urgent matter — an approaching filing deadline, a hearing date, a response deadline, or an expiring status — contact our office or another attorney immediately rather than relying on Site content.

Submitting information through the contact form

You may use the contact form to share information with us. Doing so does not create an attorney-client relationship and does not, by itself, establish attorney-client privilege over the information shared, since no engagement exists yet. By submitting the form, you authorize us to review the information solely to evaluate whether we can assist with your matter, including running a conflict-of-interest check. Please provide only a brief, general description of your situation until we confirm the engagement in writing.

Intellectual property

All content on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, images, design, and code — is owned by Askan Law PC or licensed to us and is protected by United States and international copyright and trademark law.

You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial use, share links to the Site, and quote brief excerpts with attribution. You may not reproduce substantial portions of the Site for commercial use, create derivative works, use the Askan Law PC name or branding without our written permission, or scrape or copy the Site using automated tools. If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, contact us using the details below.

Prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

  • access or tamper with non-public areas of the Site or the systems of our service providers;
  • probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system, or breach any security or authentication measures;
  • interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Site, including through automated or abusive submissions;
  • transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code;
  • impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
  • use the Site for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose.

Unauthorized access to or use of the Site may violate the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (18 U.S.C. § 1030) and other state and federal laws. We reserve the right to investigate violations and refer them to law enforcement.

Third-party links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites, such as government resources. We provide such links for convenience only. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Askan Law PC and its principals, employees, and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. In any event, our total liability arising from your use of the Site is limited to one hundred dollars ($100). Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Askan Law PC against any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Site, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.

Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Site will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

General provisions

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that provision or any other. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Askan Law PC regarding your use of the Site and supersede any prior agreements.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms at any time by posting a revised version on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Site after the revision date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
